The recorders interviewed one of the crew members. The crew member they interviewed was Randy Ardnt from the worm crew. They asked him a few questions like, "Why did you choose to be in the worm crew?" His response was, "I chose to be in the worm crew because I LOVE bugs, worms and other insects.I have been interested in worms ever since I was five years old. The smell of worms doesn't bother me." Another question we asked was, "If you had to choose to stay in the worm crew or leave what would you do?" His answer to this was, "If I had to choose to stay in the worm crew I would."

This week the window gardeners are going to have one member of the window crew that will be cleaning and making new planters, while the other three members are watering the window planters that are already set up in the teacher classrooms. The worm crew is managing the worm bins, because the crew had put to much food into the bin. So it kinda stinks. The planting crew has mainly been watering plants. The leftover crew has been spray-painting the plastic flowers the color red, white, and blue for the Texas Celebration which is coming up pretty soon.

First off in our Environmental Science Class we were each separated into different crews. There is the worm crew that have been picking out food for the worms and taking care of them. The window gardener crew planted window gardens and placed them into teachers classrooms. The planter crew transplanted plants into bigger pots and into the A.M.S Community Garden. The leftover crew worked on a project for the Texas Celebration. At the end of the week all crews will work on our Community Garden.

So far in the Environmental Science class we have been planting seeds so that they can be planted in our Community Garden. We also have been collecting water bottles and gatorade bottles for more window garden plants to place in our teachers class rooms. Later on in the week we will be preparing the garden for our peas and other vegetables. We will also be making more cinder blocks for our future outdoor classroom. This will also carry on to next week as well.

Welcome to the AMS Community Garden
At the beginning of the year our garden was just a small empty space on the side of our middle school. But with a little hard work and determination our small empty space soon became a beautiful healthy garden. We have grown many things such as: Tomatoes, Beets, Broccoli, Radishes, Carrots, Peas, Lettuce, and more! The AMS Community Garden is now welcome to anyone. Hope you come by and see what we have done!
